Your scoring weights
Choose how personal Taste and published Consensus Taste combine, then how much Taste and Rarity count toward the overall score.
Taste
Only your available Taste ratings are used. If one is blank, the other counts 100%.
Rarity
How difficult this bottle is for you to acquire at retail, scored using your 1–10 dropdown in half-point increments.
Rarity is included only when you have entered it. No estimated rarity is used.
75% My Taste / 25% Consensus Taste. Overall score: 80% Total Taste / 20% Rarity when rated. Value Bonus is optional (±0.3).

Ratings Review Center
Review exact expressions before new scores affect your Quality ranking.
This release contains a curated, static audit of 20 reviews. Refresh view reloads the current saved decisions; it does not search publishers. Automatic discovery will require authorized source access and a scheduled service.
Taste blends My Taste with published Consensus Taste. Rarity is a separate manual component, and Value Bonus is your optional ±0.3 judgment at MSRP. Historical entries remain intact.
Private data is stored in Supabase after you sign in. Export a JSON backup regularly. Initial data must be imported from your previous dashboard. Changes synchronize when saved and other devices refresh; concurrent edits from two devices should be avoided.

Scoring methodology
The ALWC score combines published Consensus Taste, your personal My Taste, optional Rarity, and a small manual Value Bonus.
Total Taste
When both taste scores exist, adjust their relative weights on the Dashboard. If only one exists, use it without penalty. If neither exists, the bottle is unranked and highlighted yellow.
Total Score
When Rarity has been manually entered: Total Score = Dashboard-weighted Total Taste + Dashboard-weighted Rarity + Value Bonus. When Rarity is blank: Total Score = Total Taste + Value Bonus. Results are bounded from 0 to 10.
Value Bonus
Optional personal assessment relative to MSRP: +0.3 good value; 0.0 even steven; −0.3 bad investment. Your actual purchase price does not enter this score.
Rating provenance
Consensus Taste uses matched published professional ratings only, without an MSRP adjustment. Your My Taste and Rarity scores permit half points. Integer anchors retain their descriptive meaning. Older Rarity estimates are archived but do not automatically count as your new manual score.
Channel Wheel.
My Taste — 1 to 10 in 0.5 steps
Whole numbers retain the descriptions in the dropdown. Half scores sit between their two surrounding descriptions. Personal only.
Rarity — 1 to 10 in 0.5 steps
10 = Unicorn; 9 = Extremely rare; 8 = Very rare; 7 = Rare; 6 = Limited; 5 = Uncommon; 4 = Intermittent; 3 = Common; 2 = Very common; 1 = Ubiquitous. Enter a score when you have assessed acquisition difficulty.
Value Bonus — personal judgment against MSRP
+0.3 = Good value; 0.0 = Even Steven; −0.3 = Bad investment. Blank means no bonus. The price you actually paid never affects the score.

Find a whiskey
Start with part of a name. Choose a matching expression to fill the form below.
Describe or photograph a whiskey
Type a bottle name or description, upload a label photo, or do both. ALWC will suggest matching bottle expressions. Choose the correct one, then it will research details and fill a draft for your approval. No separate ChatGPT tab or copied JSON.
Add to desired list
Move a bottle to owned only when you acquire it.
On the hunt

Choose which whiskey styles you will consider and what matters most. Recommendations are computed from available collection and wish-list details, not from live retailer inventory or automatically discovered releases.
What should ALWC look for?
Unselected categories are excluded. Scotch is off by default.
The current recommendation engine does not interpret free text. Future authorized discovery can use these notes after review.
—
Requires published professional quality, an explicit rarity score and recorded price. Confirm price provenance; no missing scores are guessed.
Test where this bottle could rank using your unchanged ALWC formula. These inputs are scenario assumptions, NOT verified reviews, rarity data or saved bottle scores.
Enter an assumed price to calculate a scenario.
For documented benchmark prices, the displayed value is an illustration of possible acquisition cost; not evidence of current availability. Scenario values never save to your registry.
Candidates can have similar fit scores when their documented characteristics are similar. See evidence coverage below.
Why this target?
Hunt fit uses documented attributes plus neutral placeholders where evidence is missing. This is not a professional score or a live store search.
Scoring Guide
Reference only — your entered score and unsaved edits stay in place.
Choose published professional ratings, your personal tasting score, or their blend. Legacy quality estimates are archived but never used for Quality scoring.
Set reviewer weights for this bottle
The composite uses matched professional reviews. Missing scores do not count as zero. Whiskybase community scores remain separately visible, not part of the professional composite.
Standard sources: Distiller 40%, Whisky Advocate 25%, Wine Enthusiast 20%, Whiskybase 15%. A reviewer without a verified score is omitted and the remaining weights are normalized.
Select the original manually estimated rarity or the Apricot Lincoln Rarity Index. The index is a custom rubric, not a published industry scale. Four scored factors are required; blank factors are never treated as zero.
